Nice weather to install stripes again
by Mark on Mar.07, 2009, under MINI
I have 2 fellow THMMC members coming over today to get some stripes done. The first set will be a JCW version down the side of his MINI. I came up with the concept and I think it’s going to turn out fantastic! The other member is getting black Bonnet and Boot stripes along with a custom side stripe.

I really have no real process. I make sure the paint is way free by cleaning it with glass cleaner and then use soap and water in a spray bottle on both the paint and the vinyl. I cover my squeegee with painter tape to not markup the vinyl. I work from the middle out and make sure to get all bubbles out the best I can. Most smaller ones will come out after sitting in the sun awhile.

I still use RapidTac. I used to use soap & water combo but never could get the mixture right. A long time ago when vinyls 1st hit the sign scene we used Windex to apply but found it attacked the adhesive. Stripes are one thing but your wrapping technique looks, at least in the photos, most excellent.
